Monty's Bio

Monty Kisner
Monty Kisner was first elected as Associate Commissioner for District 1 in 2016 and is serving in his second term as a commissioner.

Monty’s service to Cass County goes back much further, as he was a member of the Roads and Bridges team for over seventeen years. Monty was a “multi-tasker” as an equipment operator. He was passionate about his work ethic and did what it took to get the job done, learning all the equipment needed to maintain, repair, and build Cass County’s roads.

Monty has also worked at large manufacturers like General Motors and Allis Chalmers. He understands the “working class” and the need for solid job opportunities for Cass County residents.
Monty’s years of service to the county taught him that there were opportunities for improvement in the way the county managed projects. He decided to run for Associate Commissioner to help create those opportunities and guide county employees. Under Monty’s leadership, the county has a firm five-year road plan for the first time.

Monty and his wife, Jacqueline, who goes by “Dee”, have a blended family of seven children (one who is deceased) and fourteen grandchildren. They are Christians who have attended several churches in the area, and always participated in their church community. Monty is heavily involved in his grandchildren’s lives, often going to their sporting events to cheer them on.
