Current Projects
The objective of the health department's preparedness division is to build capabilities for disasters such as:
Hosting and organizing American Red Cross sheltering classes to train volunteers in operating local shelters.
Updating plans and policies.
Attending trainings to equip our department with more resources and retain skills of staff.
Conducting drills and exercises.
Future Projects
Prepare with Pedro
The preparedness division plans to partner with the American Red Cross to teach preparedness to groups of kids who are kindergarten through 2nd grade. The program focuses on how to be prepared and take action for either home fires or a local hazard.
